Uganda: Leader of Buganda Kingdom Caucus endorses UNPA
The Chairperson of the parliamentary Caucus of the Buganda Kingdom, Rose Namayanja, MP, has officially endorsed the Campaign’s appeal for a UN Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) at a meeting on 13th August 2007 at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala. In her discussion with the President of the African Federalist Association (AFA), Prince Joseph Simbwa, the Caucus chairperson promised to support the UNPA-Campaign at the local and international level. Rose Namayanja also indicated support of the Buganda Caucus should a resolution to support the UNPA proposal be tabled in the Ugandan national parliament. The caucus includes a total of 78 MPs. Buganda is the largest of the traditional kingdoms in Uganda.
