In a resolution adopted on 23 January 2006 in Strasbourg, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has invited the UN General Assembly „to setting up a UN parliamentary assembly, based on national delegations, with consultative functions for the General Assembly“.
