Campagne lancée en Argentine

Le 8 Mai 2007 la Campagne pour l’Etablissement d’une Assemblée Parlementaire aux Nations Unis (UNPA) a été lancé dans le hall „Jose Luis Cabezas“ du National Congress of Argentina à Buenos Aires. L’évènement a été acueilli par Democracia Global, une ONG advocating une Union Sud Américaine et l’établissement d’un Parlement Mondial. Isay Klasse, Juan Jose Sebreli et Fernando Iglesias souligné qu’une UNPA est un premier pas vers ce but. D’autres participants de l’évènement étaient Membres du Parliament Fernando Sanchez, Elsa Quiroz et Fabiana Ríos. Des figures politiques comme l’ancien Vice-Gouverneur de Buenos Aires, Elva Roulet, et l’ancien député et Ministre du Travail, Patricia Bullrich, y ont participé. L’appel de la Campagne pour une UNPA a été signé, entre autres, par 17 députés argentins de 7 différents partis.

Campaign launched in Argentina

On 8 May 2007 the Campaign for the Establishment of a Parliamentary Assembly at the United Nations (UNPA) has been launched in the hall „Jose Luis Cabezas“ of the National Congress of Argentina in Buenos Aires. The event was hosted by Democracia Global, an NGO advocating a South American Union and the establishment of a World Parliament. Isay Klasse, Juan Jose Sebreli and Fernando Iglesias stressed that a UNPA is a first step towards this goal. Further participants of the event were the Members of Parliament Fernando Sanchez, Elsa Quiroz and Fabiana Ríos. Political figures like the former Vice-Governor of Buenos Aires, Elva Roulet, and former MP and Minister of Work, Patricia Bullrich, attended. The Campaign’s Appeal for a UNPA has been signed, among others, by 17 Argentine MPs from 7 different parties.

Soutien à la Campagne UNPA en Italie

A une conférence de presse à l’Assemblée Nationale italienne, la Camera dei Deputati, le 3 Mai, des parlementaires et représentants d’organisations non-gouvernementales ont présenté la Campagne pour une Assemblée Parlementaire des NU. L’évènement a été accueilli par le parlementaire Tana de Zulueta qui a souligné qu’à ce jour 21 députés autres Italiens de toutes partie lines soutiennent l’Appel de la Campagne pour une UNPA. Autres intervenants : Sénateur Valerio Zanone, Prof. Lucio Levi (World Federalist Movement), Raffaella Bolini (Associazione di Promozione Sociale) et Giacinto Bisogni (Magistratura Democratica). D’autres parlementaires étaient présents.

Le Parlement Européen s’associe au lancement de la campagne de l’UNPA

Le 3 mai, les Membres du Parlement Européen ont rejoint l’appel mondial pour une assemblée parlementaire des Nations Unies (UNPA). La proposition a été présentée aux représentants des médias par les députés Jo Leinen du groupe Socialiste et Président du Comité sur les Affaires Constitutionnelles, Gérard Onesta du groupe Vert et Vice-Président du Parlement Européen et Graham Watson, chef du groupe libéral ALDE. La plus récente résolution du Parlement Européen appelant l’établissement d’une UNPA a été adoptée en juin 2005. Une première résolution a été passée en 1993. L’appel de la Campagne pour l’UNPA a été signé par 49 députés individuels.

Support for UNPA Campaign in Italy

At a press conference in the Italian National Assembly, the Camera dei Deputati, on 3 May, parliamentarians and representatives of non-governmental organizations presented the Campaign for a UN Parliamentary Assembly. The event was hosted by parliamentarian Tana de Zulueta who stressed that so far another 21 Italian MPs across all party lines endorse the Campaign’s appeal for a UNPA. Further speakers at the presentation were Senator Valerio Zanone, Prof. Lucio Levi (World Federalist Movement), Raffaella Bolini (Associazione di Promozione Sociale) and Giacinto Bisogni (Magistratura Democratica). Further parliamentarians attended.

European Parliament joins launch of UNPA Campaign

On 3 May Members of the European Parliament joined the worldwide call for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA). The proposal was presented to media representatives by MEPs Jo Leinen from the Socialist group and Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Gérard Onesta from the Green group and Vice-President of the European Parliament and Graham Watson, leader of the liberal group ALDE. The most recent resolution of the European Parliament calling for the establishment of a UNPA was adopted in June 2005. A first resolution was passed in 1993. The Campaign’s appeal for a UNPA was signed by 49 individual MEPs.

Clare Short accueille le lancement de la Campagne au R.U.

Le Lancement de la Campagne pour une Assemblée Parlementaire des Nations Unies a eu lieu à la House of Commons, Londres, le mercredi 2 mai 2007. L’évènement a été accueilli et présidé par Rt Hon Député Clare Short, ancien Ministre du Cabinet pour le Développement International, qui a parlé de l’importance de la proposition d’une Assemblée Parlementaire des Nations Unies. Gordon Glass, Directeur de 2020*Vision Ltd et Représentant au Comité de Campagne International, et Carrie Haslett, Associée, ont parlé de leur propre motivation et de leur implication personnelle dans la Campagne. Les présentations ont été suivies par une session animée de question/réponse qui a soulevé et abordé plusieurs points publics sur la proposition et les futures stratégies.

Clare Short hosts U.K. launch of Campaign

The UK Launch of the Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly took place in the House of Commons, London, on Wednesday 2 May 2007. The event was hosted and chaired by Rt Hon Clare Short MP, former Cabinet Minister for International Development, who spoke of the importance of the proposal for a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly. Gordon Glass, Director of 2020*Vision Ltd and its representative on the international Campaign Committee, and Carrie Haslett, Associate, spoke of their own personal motivation and involvement in the Campaign. The presentations were followed by a lively question and answer session which raised, and addressed, a number of public concerns about the proposal and future strategies.

Lors d’une conférence publique convoquée au Courtyard Protea Hotel à Dar Es Salaam, Tanzanie, la Campagne pour l’Etablissement d’une Assemblée Parlementaire NU (UNPA) a été présentée par Dr. Azaveli Lwaitama de l’Université de Dar Es Salaam et Generali Ulimwengu, Président d’Habari Corporation. L’évènement a été organisé par le Groupe Tanzanien du Comité pour des NU Démocratiques. Parmi les participants figurait Teddy Louise Kasella-Bantu, Membre de l’Assemblée Nationale et supporter de l’Appel de la Campagne pour une UNPA.

Public conference in Dar Es Salaam on UNPA Campaign

At a public conference convened at the Courtyard Protea Hotel in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, the Campaign for the Establishment of a UN Parliamentary Assembly (UNPA) was presented by Dr. Azaveli Lwaitama from the University of Dar Es Salaam and Generali Ulimwengu, Chairman of Habari Corporation. The event was organized by the Tanzanian Group of the Committee for a Democratic U.N. Among the participants was Teddy Louise Kasella-Bantu, Member of the National Assembly and supporter of the Campaign’s appeal for a UNPA.
